Housing in Brazil: Paulistas & Cariocas
Elisabete França, director of the Housing Department in Sao Paulo (Brazil) was presented at MCH in collaboration with ICEX (Foreign Trade Institute). She spoke about her experience dealing with social housing, favelas and “active urban planning” in one of the biggest cities in the world.
Sergio Magalhães, ex-director of the Housing Department in Rio (manager of Favela Bairro) and former president of the Rio chapter of the Brazilian Institute of Architects came to MCH to explain the situation of social Housing in his hometown.
